Paintings by Altamirano
Elena is the director and principal artist on display in the gallery. She paints, tending toward the abstract, in acrylic, oil and water color. A distinctive aspect of her art is the fabrication, preparation, sewing, stressing of her canvas using thread or wire from purchased or found materials before applying paints. This requires a bit of work to prepare the canvas in such manner, so you probably won’t see such work in Triunfo street where the mass produced (i.e. copies of others works) and touristic art is sold.
